0:00Well, my topic for today is the low-code approach to development. 0:05And I'm going to walk you through kind of my evaluation on how it really resonated with me. 0:11The first what is low-code? When I see an acronym, 0:14first thing is, what is this really? 0:16It's really in a rapid application development technique -- or approach -- where you can actually have visual tools, 0:24access to the normal 100% visual tools, point click, drag and drop -- all the capabilities of no-code that you will find out. 0:34But also you have that ability to do some coding or scripting to augment what you're doing. 0:40Now, how is that relevant? 0:42If I had a one analogy to summarize it up for me. 0:45It's kind of like your hybrid car where I have the ability to plug in and get electricity to run my vehicle, 0:51but also I have the ability to power it with gas when that is not enough there. 0:56So it's kind of like the best of both worlds that you're able to achieve. 1:00Secondly, I said, "Well, okay, what can I actually -- -- who is this -- 1:04Who is is actually built for you?" 1:05That really lets me know the primary audience of where I'll kind of think about the context when I want to use this approach. 1:12And I think that's the first thing is geared to professional developers. 1:16Since we have a natural inclination, me, myself, I'll confess to actually want to build, build, build. 1:23This really appeals to them. 1:25They just do have that ability to augment what you're doing with code there. 1:31All right. 1:31Secondly, is your power users, when we think about the term of citizen developers, business technologists, again, 1:38they are described as not as non-technical people that have some experience. I call my "power users", people who have 1:46a lot more experience, but not necessarily up to the level of professional developers here. 1:52Lastly, what's what kind of outputs can I achieve here? 1:55So you'll see a lot of low-code in editors and IDEs where you can augment the capabilities of what an IDE can do. 2:04Secondly, which I spent a lot of time in IDEs when I'm coding, great appeal there. 2:08Web UI is where I can augment the capabilities of what's there in the actual web interface. 2:15And then also your connectors or plug ins. 2:18And we know that these are repeatable tasks like building connections to SaaS REST APIs. 2:25You know, that's something that if I can greatly facilitate that in a -- plug that in -- my credentials and go, great benefit to me. 2:33So this has been the topic of low-code approach to development. 2:38While you're here, please leave your comments below. 2:41Subscribe to that channel so we can keep bringing you great content on topics like this. 2:46Until next time, technically yours, Jamil Spain. 2:51If you have any questions, please drop us a line below. 2:54And if you want to see more videos like this in the future, please Like and Subscribe.
