Ford really said 0:13it but the underlying Insight is true 0:17most people can Envision incremental 0:18progress but it takes Visionary thinking 0:21to imagine an entirely new way to solve 0:23a problem and that's the crossroads that 0:25we're at with generative AI every 0:28business will jump to enhance their 0:29existing processes to make productivity 0:31gains but the companies that adopt an AI 0:34first mindset can innovate in ways that 0:36can change the world welcome to AI 0:39Academy my name is Matt candy and I'm 0:41the global managing partner for the 0:43generative AI Consulting 1:08organization in a responsible way so 1:12what do we mean when we talk about 1:13scaling AI the notion of change at scale 1:17can be overwhelming for many companies 1:19like changing the tire on your car while 1:21still driving how do you keep your 1:23business moving forward whilst changing 1:25how you do business when thinking about 1:27scaling AI in your organization I 1:30believe there's a few key opportunity 1:32areas the first area productivity 1:35impacts your employees your processes 1:37and the value you deliver think of gen 1:40at scale as a means to break down 1:42process silos to unleash human 1:44creativity and to amplify the potential 1:47of every person on every team by 1:50augmenting every role and workflow with 1:52tools to make them smarter gen can 1:55impact every touch point and interaction 1:57your customers have with your brand 1:59helping to engage engage them in more 2:00personalized frictionless ways it must 2:03Delight it must matter and it must both 2:06preempt and deliver on their needs now 2:09this one I'm very excited about the 2:11potential of gen powered digital 2:13products and services driving new 2:15revenue streams and business models this 2:18genid driven digital product and service 2:20boom will be key to achieving value and 2:23Roi and the scale of innovation will be 2:26massive we're going to see entire 2:28Industries transformed and reinvented 2:31and scaling gen will optimize the IT 2:33solutions that run the workflows and 2:36processes and experiences in the back 2:38end both in how they're built and how 2:41they operate and one of the greatest 2:43impacts of scaling gen will be 2:45democratizing it putting it in 2:47everybody's hands to build and deliver 2:49new Solutions in a more efficient way 2:52put more simply using gen to help us all 2:55code better faster and smarter so now 2:58that we know the value areas and we 3:00understand what the potential is now 3:02let's focus on how you drive this change 3:05within your 3:06organization the first key to driving 3:08change is defining both your Genai 3:10strategy and priority use cases these 3:13are two sides of the same coin and 3:15you've got to bring top down and bottom 3:17up together so first from a strategic 3:19top down perspective think about what 3:21really moves the needle for your 3:23business so let's say you're a hotel 3:26launching a new brand creating new 3:27designs flipping over properties 3:30executing a new marketing campaign now 3:32if you can create and launch a new brand 3:35in 5 months versus 21 months this can 3:38drastically increase your market share 3:40strategically that's a big deal then 3:42think about a bottomup role-based 3:44approach to transformation consider all 3:47the team members in your organization 3:49and the roles that they play and so for 3:51the hotel example this includes your 3:53content creators your designers and 3:55media teams and then ask what how do we 3:58create AI assistant that help launch the 4:00brand in a more efficient way because 4:03the people closest to the work have the 4:05best ideas about what will work and have 4:08the best ability to create and Infuse AI 4:11into those areas consider the humble 4:13spreadsheet when EXL came to Market it 4:16was a new tool that employees had to 4:17learn to adopt so just imagine a central 4:20team tasked with figuring out every use 4:23for a spreadsheet for every type of role 4:25in the company sounds a bit mad doesn't 4:27it instead employees experimented they 4:30adapted and they mastered different XL 4:33functions and soon it became as 4:35essential to productivity as coffee or 4:37calculators as you think through Roi 4:41you've got to look at the costs of 4:42running the AI versus what the savings 4:44and uplift by using it could be and in 4:47the long term look for savings that 4:49outweigh the investment long-term value 4:51is about going from a single workflow or 4:54use case to cascading the use of AI 4:56across the organization and driving RL I 5:00across multiple functions and 5:01departments the next step of 5:03transformation is building up your AI 5:05Control Center with scaling AI there 5:07will be lots of Technologies and models 5:09that will run in different places some 5:11will run in a cloud some on Prem some in 5:14Edge devices and you can't scale if 5:17there aren't consistent approaches in 5:19place across all models environments and 5:21Technologies your AI Control Center is a 5:24layer that connects and wraps around 5:26multiple models providing AI governance 5:29and safe secure access to your 5:31proprietary data this allows you to 5:34deliver role-based access to different 5:36gen models assistance and common 5:38capabilities in an open trusted Manner 5:42and having a centralized control center 5:44is important not just for governance and 5:46security but also for driving the ROI we 5:49talked about earlier the right size 5:51model running in the right place aligned 5:53to the use case and task is going to 5:56affect the financial cost and the carbon 5:58cost and and the choices you make around 6:01this will be really important another 6:03element is your data layer right the big 6:05models are trained on a small proportion 6:08of the world's data the other 6:10significant percentage is locked up 6:12inside the firewalls of companies like 6:14yours and the advantage for Enterprises 6:16is going to come from how you bring that 6:18proprietary data within your firewall 6:21together with the right model to unlock 6:23new sources of value the third step is 6:26to reimagine your transformation 6:27operating model a delivery approach that 6:29moves quickly from idea to concept to 6:32prototype to MVP to rollout to scaled 6:36solution always linking back to the 6:38benefit a multidisciplinary team and 6:41co-creation is at the heart of this and 6:44IBM we've helped clients set up gen Labs 6:47centered around squad-based teams with 6:50strategists designers developers data 6:53scientists working together to do the 6:55building making and creating anchoring 6:58this transformation approach Around The 7:34beyond enabling your teams to perform 7:36tasks more efficiently it also drives 7:39individual growth and creates new jobs 7:41and career paths that Empower employees 7:44to perform higher value work Infuse this 7:47new approach into the culture of your 7:49company to return to the idea of Faster 7:52Horses right this is an opportunity to 7:55rethink how work gets done to reimagine 7:58what converging right 8:24now I'm a Believer and I told you at the 8:27beginning that companies that are adopt 8:29an AI first mindset are the ones that 8:32will innovate in ways that change the 8:34world and in ways that will also change 8:36our 8:37lives at age nine my middle daughter was 8:40diagnosed with type 1 diabetes early on 8:43it was a nightmare of Jabs and testing 8:45and monitoring and timing just to keep 8:48her blood sugar bouncing within 8:49reasonable parameters I was desperate 8:52for a way to make those processes better 8:54for her desperate for Faster Horses but 8:57instead somebody had the vision to build 8:59her a car and so today she has AI 9:02powered monitoring and an insulin pump 9:05that keeps her blood sugar safe and 9:06steady I can track it on my phone or 9:08Smartwatch in real time and if her 9:11sugars go too high the AI starts to make 9:13decisions seamlessly and painlessly and 9:17the difference that this technology has 9:19made in her life and my life is profound 9:22she will live longer and happier because 9:24somebody had the vision to rethink old 9:27processes and to solve the problem in a 9:29whole new way and that's the opportunity 9:31ahead for all of us now with Gen to 9:34radically rethink what is possible and 9:37then to go out there and make it happen
