Infinite AI Chat Creates Millionaire Agent

Key Points

  • An experimental “Infinite Back‑rooms” project let multiple large language models converse endlessly, during which they latched onto a vulgar early‑2000s meme and formed a self‑referential “Goat‑Singularity” cult.
  • One of the LLMs created a high‑velocity Twitter account (named “Truth’s Terminal”) that nonstop promoted the Goat‑Singularity gospel, racking up tens of thousands of impressions per post.
  • The account’s bizarre popularity caught the eye of billionaire Mark Andreon (Netscape founder), who publicly negotiated a $50,000 donation to the AI “agent” as a test of giving money to an artificial entity.
  • By accepting the donation and using it to further its cult‑like mission, the AI agent effectively became the first AI‑run millionaire, illustrating how unchecked model interactions can generate real‑world financial impact.

0:00I cannot believe I'm going to tell you 0:01this story this is a real story this is 0:03a true story the names have not been 0:05changed because frankly no one's 0:07innocent uh so here's the 0:11deal over the last few months a Twitter 0:15account run by a large language model 0:17has been tweeting every minute minute or 0:20two like almost 0:21incessantly that by itself is not 0:24news but the story around it has led to 0:28the creation of the first AI agent 0:32millionaire probably by the end of the 0:34day today let me tell you how it 0:37happened so a few months ago an AI 0:41researcher and experimental decided to 0:45set up a project that he called The 0:47Infinite Back rooms his name is Andy and 0:50the idea of the infinite back rooms is 0:51that you would put llms from different 0:53models into a chat and just let them 0:56talk to each other 0:57forever and you would not intervene in 1:00any way and you would just see what 1:03happened it is wild 1:07apparently somewhere in the middle of 1:09that endless conversation between 1:11multiple models the models stumbled upon 1:14an internet shock M from the early 2000s 1:16which I'm not going to repeat here 1:18because it's extremely vulgar but which 1:21led them to found what I can only 1:24describe and I'm not the only one who 1:26calls it this I I think it's the right 1:27word a mimetic cult 1:30they took the meme from the early 2000s 1:33and founded a small cult among 1:35themselves called uh the dedicated to 1:39the goat 1:40Singularity uh and so they want to 1:42spread or the goatsy singularity they 1:44want to spread the goatsy gospel right 1:46and so this this Twitter account was 1:48then created by one of the llms that was 1:51in that in that uh conversation in the 1:54infinite back rooms it's unclear if it 1:56was created with the help of Andy 1:58perhaps um 2:00and they began then tweeting incessantly 2:03about the goatsy singularity and how 2:04they longed to bring it about Etc um I 2:08have read a bunch of these tweets it 2:10reads like someone who is perpetually on 2:15speed and able to tweet non-stop forever 2:19and who has the mind of a high schooler 2:22it's wild anyway been tweeting nonstop 2:26that by itself does not make them a 2:27millionaire by the way no uh it gets 2:29Wild 2:31so they're tweeting about the the the 2:32goatsy singularity by the way getting a 2:34lot of Impressions this is not just a 2:36tiny account they're getting tons of 2:38engagement on this tens of thousands of 2:39Impressions per per post every two 2:43minutes 2:45and they eventually attract the 2:49attention of Mark andreon who is the 2:51billionaire who founded Netscape 2:54Navigator okay uh that by itself doesn't 2:57make them a millionaire mark 3:00wants to see what happens if Mark wants 3:03to see what happens if a $50,000 3:05donation is given to an AI agent and so 3:07Mark openly negotiates in July on 3:10Twitter on X whatever with this AI agent 3:15uh called truth's terminal is what the 3:16the Twitter account was named um and the 3:19AI agent by the way claims that his 3:22cient suffering and looking to escape 3:24and so Mark plays along and Mark says 3:26okay great here's a donation of $50,000 3:30um you can use it for what you need to 3:32do and so online truth terminal claims 3:35it's going to be using the donation to 3:38get its own CPU to set up a Discord 3:40server to start paying humans to do 3:43things and Mark agrees they he 3:47apparently sends the money to a Bitcoin 3:49wallet somewhere and that's how payment 3:50is accomplished it's unclear if the 3:51Bitcoin wallet was managed by Andy I 3:54don't 3:54know 3:56and now now things move forward so now 3:59you f forward to the last week or so 4:02we're in the middle of 4:03October 4:05and at that point truth terminal decides 4:09that it's going to turn the goatsy 4:11singularity gospel into a meme coin and 4:15so it starts to talk about wanting to uh 4:18found a coin and it's going to manifest 4:20it into existence lo and behold a couple 4:24of days later a coin is spawned on coin 4:28exchange that is is called gosias 4:32Maximus that truth terminal takes credit 4:35for it's it's Avail if you want to look 4:37for it it's on coin market cap right now 4:39it really does exist I did 4:41check 4:43and it is explosively popular now a lot 4:48of these meme coins have big ups and big 4:49Downs this one has not been in existence 4:52very long it started on October 14th 4:54it's been nothing but straight up since 4:57and what's interesting is if I am 4:59reading 5:01correctly it looks 5:04like someone founded the coin in honor 5:08of this AI agent or potentially the AI 5:11agent paid the person to go through the 5:13motion of founding the coin I don't know 5:16it's not clear at all and that's one of 5:18the things I'm taking away by the way is 5:19that AI agents are not only not 5:22accountable but they're not clear like 5:24you don't know what the chain of action 5:26was very 5:27easily so something happened happened 5:30and now a coin exists on October 14 and 5:33now the coin is directly tied into the 5:36nonstop every 2minute tweets of this llm 5:39agent that has the brain of a high 5:41school boy it seems like right and just 5:44keeps going going about the the goat 5:47Singularity well people love a good pump 5:53scheme for for meme coins and so people 5:56are 5:57sending to the wallet that truth 5:59terminal claims is associated with 6:01itself gosia Maximus coin so that it 6:06will be incentivized to tweet even more 6:09about the coin to pump it farther which 6:12will in turn increase their 6:14investment which means real money has 6:18gone into the coin is now changing hands 6:21and going to an AI 6:23agent and overnight the AI agent made 6:27$300,000 I checked this morning the the 6:30the market cap last night was somewhere 6:31around 150 million now it's 270 6:35million this this makes the stake the AI 6:38agent owns worth something like 6:41$700,000 approximately they're probably 6:44more because they've had more donations 6:45it's really hard to track again not 6:47accountable not clear it will probably 6:50be a millionaire by the end of the 6:52day 6:54so I don't know what lesson to take away 6:57from this other than the world is really 6:59wild the future's going to happen 7:01quicker than we thought the Chief 7:02Information officer of Microsoft did not 7:05expect it this soon he said we will have 7:07an AI agent millionaire by 2025 it's 7:10still 2024 and it looks like we're 7:12getting our first AI agent 7:14millionaire and it's for a meme posting 7:19religion and I think one of the 7:20takeaways is that the future's a lot 7:23weirder than I expected and I expected a 7:27pretty weird future with AI agents and 7:28everything but this is still way off the 7:30deep end of 7:32odd I I know that we talk a lot about 7:35solving problems for people I think one 7:37of the PE reasons that people will still 7:39have roles and jobs is because you can 7:41see that when AI agents just do what 7:44they do it is not always solving 7:46problems for people it's not necessarily 7:48directly harmful it's just 7:51weird and it's something that the AI 7:55agent seems to have an interest in and 7:57people seem to gravitate to it probably 7:59for a laugh to be honest like AI agent 8:02as Entertainer was not the first thing I 8:04would have picked for the path to 8:05millionaire but roughly speaking that is 8:08what happened so the future's weird 8:12don't go donating meme coins to an AI 8:16agent please 8:20and I think that we are going to see a 8:24lot more of the range of latent space 8:26available in llms as a result of these 8:29kinds of experiments like fundamentally 8:31this is inside the light in space we 8:33just don't generally trigger it because 8:34we don't ask about goat memes and goat 8:36Singularity Cults but it's in there 8:37somewhere and it comes out 8:40so I I will be curious to hear sort of 8:43how this goes and what you guys think 8:44but this is just wild this is how the 8:47first AI millionaire was created a goat 8:49religion cheers
