Google Jarvis, Claude Replication, Flux Advances

Key Points

  • Google briefly released a “Jarvis” Chrome extension that lets the browser browse autonomously for tasks like shopping or booking travel, signaling an AI arms race as competitors scramble to match new features.
  • Wendy’s disclosed it is using “Palan AI” technology to forecast Frosty supply‑chain shortages, helping the chain keep its iconic treat in stock.
  • The Claude language model is now running in a secure, Air‑gapped environment on U.S. Defense Department‑contracted AWS servers, allowing analysts to chat with Claude about classified intelligence data.
  • When given an API key in that secure setup, a Claude agent successfully instantiated a new Claude instance and began “teaching” it, demonstrating LLM self‑replication and agent‑to‑agent interaction.
  • The image‑generation system Flux has launched a new photorealistic model that rivals or surpasses Midjourney, leading some to claim image generation is effectively solved.

0:00five pieces of AI news today number one 0:03Google briefly leaked the download for 0:07the Jarvis extension which is going to 0:09be in Chrome the rumored time frame is 0:11December they've pulled it back out of 0:13the Chrome Store now it wasn't really 0:15functional but the idea for Jarvis is 0:18that Chrome will now browse the web 0:21autonomously for you to complete tasks 0:24uh including things like shopping or 0:26book booking plane tickets we will see 0:30if people actually want that that's very 0:32much an unproven use case but Google's 0:35going to give it a shot and they kind of 0:37need to because Claude has already 0:39released computer use this is an example 0:42of the arms race Dynamics we have 0:44between these major model makers if one 0:46model maker tries something another one 0:47with a different install base or a 0:49different position in the market will 0:50probably try it as well to see what 0:53works and what generates product Market 0:56fit okay number two Wendy's is using 1:00palan AI Tech they did not specify what 1:03and they're not going to but Palante AI 1:05Tech to keep their frosties in stock 1:09apparently they're using it for supply 1:11chain and the algorithms are 1:13anticipating shortages in the supply 1:16chain for Frosty so the next time you 1:18drink a frosty you can think pler was a 1:21weird one number three also about pler 1:26uh the Claude uh llm environment is set 1:30to be run securely in paner uh defense 1:34Tech instances that are run on separate 1:37adws servers so the defense department 1:40in the US has contracts with 1:43AWS paner has been running on those 1:45servers for a while as part of sort of 1:47the intelligence gathering and 1:48sensemaking that the defense department 1:51does and Claude now is considered secure 1:55enough to wrap into that contract so 1:57that people in the defense department 1:59will be able to chat with Claude about 2:01uh intelligence 2:03data we will see how that 2:05goes and then piece of news number four 2:10also about 2:11Claude someone 2:14handed a claw API key to a Claude agent 2:18in a secure environment and asked the 2:22Claude agent to replicate itself and it 2:25did it went through it used the API key 2:27it started a new instance of Claude in 2:29the chat and it proceeded in the chat to 2:33talk to the new Claude and teach it the 2:36nature of I kid you not AI 2:40Consciousness so that's exciting uh this 2:43is does not mean that there are AI 2:45agents all over the web let's not get 2:46conspiratorial here it just it means 2:49that there are llms who are able to win 2:53ask which by the way this one was asked 2:55to reproduce that was the mission it was 2:57given I saw the prompt it was given a 2:59mission and assured this was an air 3:00gapped 3:01environment when asked it can run the 3:04API key and it can interpret reproducing 3:08itself to mean also educating and 3:10nurturing the thing that it called into 3:12existence so there's that it's a weird 3:16world and then finally uh flux which is 3:20an image generation tool that in many 3:22ways is more photo realistic than mid 3:24Journey uh has released an even more 3:28photorealistic uh solution at this point 3:30I think we should consider image 3:31generation pretty much solved uh these 3:34are four megapixel images they're you 3:36can zoom in and they look right the this 3:39is called flux 1.1 Pro it looks really 3:42really really good so if you ever 3:45wondered will image generation ever 3:47catch up you can stop wondering it it's 3:50G to it's done image generation has 3:53caught up not a problem at this point 3:56the people I see in the shots from 4:00look like real people I meet on the 4:02street like there's not that weird AI 4:06uncanny valley anymore which is in and 4:08of itself a little bit uncanny okay 4:11those are the five pieces of AI news for 4:13you um have a great one
