Agent Recipes, Market Tools, MatterGen AI

Key Points

  • A new site, AgentRecipes.com, visually showcases what AI agents can actually do and provides code snippets, helping cut through the current hype where anything renamed “agent” is being over‑promoted.
  • For non‑developers, the transcript highlights a concrete business‑oriented use case: an agent‑driven market‑listing tool that continuously scans X (Twitter) for market‑signal tweets, curates and categorizes them, demonstrating a proactive, value‑adding agent application.
  • Successful deployment of such tools could bootstrap an ecosystem of “agent‑as‑a‑service” solutions, encouraging more builders to create and monetize agent‑powered products.
  • Microsoft’s recent release, MatterGen, is an advanced AI model aimed at designing new materials rather than simply synthesizing them, representing a step toward AI‑driven scientific discovery.
  • The speaker predicts a surge in cutting‑edge AI models focused on scientific research, with the potential for AI to uncover new physics and materially impact future material innovation.

0:00all right we have a ton to get to today 0:02we have agent stuff we have tools for 0:04Builders and uh we have some really 0:07interesting research coming out of 0:08Microsoft so number one it has been hard 0:12for people to get a sense of what you 0:14can do with an agent a new site called 0:16Agent recipes.com aims to change that by 0:19making it really clear visually what 0:21task the agent is accomplishing and also 0:23presenting code stets now agents are 0:25overhyped right now people are calling 0:27cron jobs agents people are doing 0:30anything they can to rename stuff agents 0:32because it gets funded so fast but that 0:34being said agents really are a class of 0:38AI tooling and it is helpful to 0:42understand what they can do and so I do 0:43appreciate it when people are building 0:45little sites this one's free where they 0:46you can just understand like what's in 0:48the box what's an 0:50agent now this brings me to the other 0:52side if you're not a developer if you're 0:54not getting the coding 0:55side you may want to use an agent or see 0:58an agent in a real use case and you may 1:00want to see what the business value is 1:02before you start to go after and build 1:04something let's say you're a builder but 1:05you're on the business side will pay for 1:08this is apparently going to be an agent 1:11driven Market listing tool for X where 1:15the agent will go out it will read X 1:18tweets all the time and it will select 1:21the ones that it feels represent Market 1:23signal and categorize them so that you 1:26can go through and see a curated feed 1:29out of x X and just see what people say 1:31they will pay for and choose to build 1:33that I think that's a really interesting 1:36use case because one if it works it's 1:38not launched yet if it works it shows a 1:41proactive agent use case which I think 1:43is one of the more genuine agent use 1:46cases in the wild I've seen there's a 1:47couple others but but it's a good one uh 1:50and then two it sort of Builds on itself 1:53because you're going to see a lot of use 1:55cases that agents in turn can help build 1:57and so it sort of stimulates the 1:59creation of the whole asan ecosystem all 2:01right number three this one is a little 2:03bit more Star Trek Microsoft has 2:06released matter gen which is it's close 2:11to when you can just order te on the 2:12Enterprise and it just appears uh it's 2:15not quite that because it doesn't 2:17actually synthesize the matter but it is 2:20specifically an advanced scientific 2:23model an AI model for Designing new 2:28materials and so in this case they're 2:29not so much looking to recreate the cup 2:31of tea as they are looking to help 2:33scientists discover new materials this 2:35is really in line with one of the things 2:37that Sam mman has laid out as a goal for 2:40when artificial intelligence has really 2:42crossed the Event Horizon when it's 2:44become something that is smarter than us 2:47uh and that is that it can discover its 2:48own new physics and so you're going to 2:51see a lot of push on Cutting Edge models 2:53in the next year or so and a lot of that 2:56is going to come around science so I'll 2:59be really curious curious to see sort of 3:01how matter genen evolves how it gets 3:03used I bet new materials get discovered 3:05this year it should be 3:06fun copy coder is really cool copy coder 3:10is back in the tools land it's not 3:13really agent based it's just a site 3:15where you can go and paste in a 3:17screenshot and understand how to prompt 3:21an AI assisted building tool to make 3:23what's in the screenshot and sometimes 3:25it's really hard to prompt prompting is 3:26a high leverage activity if you're 3:27prompting to build and you get it wrong 3:29can go off the rails fast so copy coder 3:31is really helpful for that finally 3:34synthesis synthesis is one of my 3:35favorite uses of AI so far synthesis is 3:38building an AI math tutor for kids and 3:42we know that you know AI helps with 3:44children's education if teachers are 3:46involved one of the things that just 3:48came out recently was a report and the 3:50paper is still being written out of an 3:53experiment that was done in subsaharan 3:55Africa where teachers were asked to 3:58build prompts for students in their 4:00class that were falling behind and they 4:02did so and they were able to see in just 4:04a few weeks a massive amount of catchup 4:06as the students work with those sort of 4:08custom chat GPT like tutors so there's a 4:11lot of opportunity there synthesis is 4:13going after it with math I'm excited as 4:15a parent all right that's the news for 4:17today cheers
