organizations impacted by data breaches
that occurred between March 2022 and
March 2023.
the breaches took place across 16
countries and regions and in 17
different Industries
the report examines the root causes in
both the short-term and long-term
consequences of data breaches it also
explores the factors and technologies
that enable companies to limit losses or
in some cases increase their costs

first and foremost among the key
findings of the 2023 cost of a data
breach report was that the average cost
of a data breach reached an all-time
high in 2023 of 4.45 million US dollars
this represents a 2.3 percent increase
over 2022 and an astounding 15.3 percent
increase over 2020.

a benign third party or by the attackers
